Submitting an Academic Appeal

To file an academic appeal at Wallace State, you must complete this form:

Students must provide documented proof of mitigating circumstances leading to the need for a financial aid/academic appeal. Mitigating circumstances are those beyond the student's control such as a family member's injury or illness, a death in the immediate family or divorce. These circumstances should relate to the academic terms where the student had issues with the grades. Lack of focus, lack of transportation or working too many hours are not considered mitigating circumstances. When students register for classes, there is an understood expectation that attendance is required.

Submitting an appeal is not an automatic approval. The Financial Aid Committee will meet each term to review the Financial Aid appeals. Students will be notified of the decision by email or letter. Students must follow the terms of their appeal if approved or the Financial Aid will be suspended.
